Covid-19: Awliya Foundation set to distribute free Hand Sanitizers to Kwarans

9jaParrot Team gathered an information that Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal's foundation known as Awliya Foundation is set to gift out free hand sanitizers to strategic places in Kwara State amidst the deadly Coronavirus disease. In a statement released on his official Facebook page, as indicated below;

Good afternoon patriots, I got wind of the lockdown as announced by the Kwara state government yesterday, it's of importance for all inhabitants of the "State of Harmony" to understand that the "unavoidable" decision was taken in the interest of all.

Corona virus otherwise known as Covid-19 spreads from person to person when a carrier of the virus coughs or exhales through small droplets from the nose or mouth . It can also spread when a person has contact with objects or surfaces on which droplets from an infected person lands, then touching the eyes, nose or mouth.

If people reduce their movements or don't move at all, the spread of the virus will reduce. Hence, it is very important for everyone to religiously follow all known precautions at this time, the lockdown inclusive. As difficult as it may be, with collaborative efforts of both the government and its citizens, Covid-19 will soon be a thing of the past in the Nation.

Lastly, I urge the government at all levels to draft palliative measures for the poor and vulnerable, this should be according to the realities on ground. In my own little way, I have asked the handlers of "Awliya foundation" - a foundation in memory of my late Dad, to continue with its online awareness on Covid-19, and to fast track the distribution of hand sanitizers to suburbs, markets and other public places.
