Recall that we earlier published that HICA partners HIDS on Countryside Emerging Leaders Fellowship.

In other to achieve efficient and transparent nomination of eligible secondary school students for the Countryside Emerging Leaders' Fellowship (CELF), the Hannis Institute for Community Advancement (HICA) has on Thursday organised an orientation course for the Coordinators of Edu, Patigi, and Moro local government areas of Kwara State.

The programme which was tagged  "roles and responsibilities of CELF coordinators" was aimed at educating the coordinators and the senior secondary students in the local government areas on CELF.

All participants were given proper orientation on the concept of community development, project CELF and on what their duties would be as LG coordinators.

Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi ,the President of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS),  Kwara State, in his opening speech described the project as an exemplary one, and urged the coordinators to discharge their responsibilities faithfully and diligently.

According to him: "If programme like CELF had been in existence, the high number of dropouts we have would have reduced".

The ANCOPSS President expressed satisfaction about the prospects of the project and tasked all the teachers in the State to ensure its success.

Alhaji Abdullahi expressed the association's readiness to partner with HICA in promoting literacy in the State through CELF.
