Kwara Speaker, Danladi broker peace in Baruten community

Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu brokered peace between Batonou and Fulani inhabitants of Bwen community of Baruten local government of the State. 

The lawmaker who appealed to both parties at the Palace of the Village Area Head of Bwen, urged them to let go of the ugly incidence that led to violence between Batonou and Fulani in the area, which claimed lives and left scores injured around June this year, a statement by his Special Assistant, Media, Ibrahim Sheriff said. 

"We must live together as brothers and avoid the war - like situation in some parts of Northern States of Nigeria, which started as needless ethnic conflicts and have now grown into wildfire consuming the peace, progress and development enjoyed by people of these states", Danladi said. 

He added "I urge you all to embrace peaceful coexistence and avoid any form of inflammatory utterance or action capable of inciting violence, security agencies will not spare anyone found culpable of orchestrating violence or public disorder". 

While urging traditional leaders and parents to caution their subjects to avoid violence in any form, the lawmaker appreciated the Executive Governor of Kwara state - AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Emir of Gwanara - HRH, Alh. Dr. Abdullahi Sabi Idiris (OFR), Village Head of Bwen - Alh. Jibril Sabi Dwaru, Hon. Saidu Baba, Hon. Suka Baba, Hon. Issa Biogera, leadership of Fulani community (Jeminatu Fulde) in Baruten local government, Mal. Adamu Alhassan, Barr. Salihu Jibril, Hon. Adamu Sabi, Hon. Musa Buge, Mal. Umar Sule Sabi, Isa Jibril, the entire Bwen community among other notable personalities for their respective roles in restoring peace in the area. 


Representative of Batonou - Bio Kareem and Fulani - Ahmadu Bello (Alabukun) communities at the gathering lauded the Speaker for always identifying with his people and coming to their aid, especially during period of the crisis. They assured the Speaker to henceforth maintain the peaceful coexistence Bwen community has enjoined before the unfortunate incidence. 


The lawmaker thereafter took a walk around the community, where he interacted with market women, men and young people in their various assemblies amidst funfair. 

On the entourage of the Speaker to the community are Special Assistant, Political to the Governor of Kwara state - Mal. Yusuf Danhawa and Board Chairman, Kwara state Water Corporation - Mal. Alhassan Siano Woru.
