Kwara Fire Inferno: Government Proactive Measures Proven Worthy

Kwara Fire Inferno:  Government Proactive Measures Proven Worthy

The Kwara state Fire Service earlier today once again prevented what could have been described as a black Sunday in Ilorin as another fire inferno was put off at Faagba area of Ilorin.

The incidence occurred at No 7. Faagba Street behind Emir's Palace Ilorin where a story building of about four rooms and five shops were exposed to fire but thanks to the quick response and efforts of men of the state Fire Service who immediately arrived at the scene of the incident and contained the fire.

The quick response of the Fire Service men to prevent the inferno which would have caused many damages to people in the neighbourhood can not be far from the reason that Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had taken some proactive measures few months back by acquiring more fire fighting vehicles for the state command of the Fire Service.

It will be recalled that the state government had in November 2019 procured more fire fighting trucks for the state fire service to empower it to operate more effectively during fire outbreaks in order to save lives and properties.

Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq during the presentation of the fire fighting trucks said "We procured these fire fighting equipment because of the safety of lives and property. It is important we safeguard lives and property. The firefighters have been selfless in what they do to the government and people of the state. So, we need to build their capacity and keep them up to the task.”

And that decision was justified earlier today as the fire outbreak in the said location within Ilorin was immediately put off by men of the fire service. The response team was able to put off the enraging inferno because Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had earlier done the needful.
