Oloriegbe Mourns Late Oniyangi
The chairman Senate Committee on Health and the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has described the death of the late former IEDPU President, Dr. Abdulkadir Oniyangi as a devastating loss which will take him long to recover from.Oloriegbe stated this in his commiseration message over the death of the former SSG, and INEC Commissioner, whose demise was announced today.
According to Oloriegbe, " I became close to Baba precisely in June 1979 at our graduation ceremony at Ansarul Islam Secondary school, Ilorin where he was the Chairman of the occasion.
"He picked interest in me as the best graduating student that received best student prizes in eight different subjects and the overall best student. Since then and throughout my medical training, practice as a doctor and as a politician, he was a mentor and a father.
"It is unarguable that our father lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation by all who wish to venture into Community Development Services. He is an intellectual icon whose impacts in the field of human developments transcended his chosen medical career.
It's so painful that we lost such a gem at this critical period when we could have drunk more from his pool of wisdom towards the betterment of our community.
"It is my prayer to almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest in Janatul Firdaus and abide with all that he left behind."
