Oloriegbe Resuscitates Moribund Ilorin West Garri Processing Factory

As part of the efforts towards the provision of empowerment opportunities for the people of Kwara Central, the Senator representing the district in the National Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has today, commissioned for use, the Ilorin West Garri Processing factory renovated by him.

The back-to-life factory has been in the state of comatose for many years before the intervention of the lawmaker who explained that the motive behind the renovation was to ensure that the government facilities built with public funds do not waste away.

Oloriegbe also expressed that the population capacity of Ilorin West gave it consideration ahead of the other three Local government Areas which will be sooner considered for similar intervention.

Oloriegbe said, "Our intervention here is not limited to the renovation of the building structure alone but also covers refurbishing of the existing equipment cum procurement of new machines as replacements for the non-functioning ones; provision of loads of cassava and start-up capital for their processing."

He further encouraged the prospective users of the facility to embrace formulation of a cooperative organization so as to aid accessibility of soft loans which will boost their business.

Highlighting the inherent opportunities in the factory, the Senator explained that the outputs of his intervention is aimed at the value-added chain system from the farmers through the processors to the final consumers of the product.

While giving remarks at the event, Alhaja Moronike, popularly known as "Yakoyo" who is the leader of the women working at the factory expressed her joy whilst assuring the Senator of proper use of the factory to achieve the desired expectations.

Some of the dignitaries at the event include The management staff of Ilorin West Local Government led by the Director of Personnel Management, Alh. Mukaila Kunle Ayantola, Ilorin West APC party stakeholders and market women.
