We are committed to deliver more road projects, says Kwara Govt

The Kwara State Government on Thursday reassured the people of the state of its commitment to increase their access to good roads across.

The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu disclosed this during an inspection visit to the ongoing construction of Shao/Malete road project in Moro local government area of the state.

The Commissioner, who said the project was a reflection of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s sincerity of purpose, pledged that the facility would be executed to specifications and acceptable standards, adding that accessories like earth drain, retaining wall and culvert are part of the construction work.

He said a bypass has been created for commuters along Okeoyi- Lanwa road in Ilorin East local government area to ease their movements, even as he vowed that the project will soon be delivered.

The Commissioner also inspected the road under construction with its earth work in Kaiama, Kaiama local government, declaring that the work has reached 90 per cent completion.

Other road projects under construction  that were visited include two box culverts at Oro-Ago, the retaining walls at Oke-Andi, Fate-Tanke road, Kano road at Adewole Housing Estate, Pakata-Alore to Gaa Imam, and Ayilara – Oke Apomu Road in Ilorin West  Local Government Area which is already completed
