A leading chairmanship aspirant for Ilorin West Local Government Area, Mal. AbdulHameed Oladipupo Alli has lauded the outstanding leadership mettle and love for peace of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. 

Popularly called Mr Nigeria, Mal. Abdul-Hameed, who made this known in his congratulatory message to the Emir in commemoration of the Emir’s 25th coronation anniversary, extolled the years of growth, peace and tranquility witnessed so far in the Emir’s reign. 

Expressing gratitude to God for the Emir, the Emirate and Kwara at large, the seasoned publisher appreciated the Emir’s foresight, guidance and determination as a leader. 

Mr Nigeria also acknowledged and acclaimed the Emir’s contributions to the political and socio-economic development of the Emirate and Kwara State as a whole. 

In his words: “All praise to Almighty Allah for His multiplex favours on our Royal Father, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. We especially appreciate Allah for the 25 good years we have been able to experience and cherish the rare leadership acumen and spiritual guidance of our Father. 

“As we celebrate the silver jubilee coronation anniversary of our Emir, we extol the illustrious years of peace and tranquility witnessed so far in his reign and his immense contribution to the political and socio-economic development of the Ilorin Emirate.

“Through his astounding foresight, guidance and determination that have brought unity, peace and tolerance in the emirate and Kwara as a whole, the light of the Emirate has continue to brighten, thereby attracting local and foreign attention”. 

Mal. AbdulHameed urged the Emir, in his love for peace and tranquility, to continue to pray for Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole. 

“I would like to use this opportunity to urge our Royal Father, in his undying love for peace and tranquility, to continue praying for Kwara State and the country at large for divine intervention to weather this tumultuous period”, he said. 

Today, I join other sons and daughters of the Emirate to felicitate with him, and wish him sound health and mind crowned with a long life spent in immeasurable Allah’s Rahmah, to enable the people of the Emirate  enjoy more of his unique leadership for many years to come. 

Within my six months in office as TIC Chairman of the  Ilorin West Local Government,  I  got more if his blessings and guidance as a father who wants all his subjects to succeed. A unique instance of such encouragement was when I proposed the establishment of Ilorin Central Mall and Cultural Centre, he did not only see it as a welcome development, but also made effort in ensuring that we got a unique location for the project before our council was dissolved.

Another good example of his live for people's growth I experienced was when I approached him with the proposal to write the biography of our mother, Hajia Aishat Sulu Gambari (NMA), in 2016, not only did he gave his blessing but also referred me to the respected Prof. Hassan Saliu, for proper preview and the work was completed shortly before the demise Emir's mother, which later put the launching on hold till the atmosphere is suitable for such epoch making event.

With these and many more instances which time and space may not permit me to keep on with, I  feel highly honored to have been able to know our father even before I became the Chairman of his Local Government,  during my short but eventful period in office where I related closely with him in an official capacity and after I have left office and become a stakeholder in his Local Government. It is for these reasons that I have dedicated my latest handbook-An Open Letter To Governor Abdul Rahman Abdul Razaq, and the Good People of Ilorin West Local Government to him.
