Alleged Forgery: Court postpones suit against Gov Obaseki to Nov. 18

Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, adjourned till November 18, hearing of the certificate forgery suit filed against the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The suit, scheduled for hearing, could not go on following submissions by Ken Mozia, counsel to Obaseki, that all pending motions relating to pleadings must first be resolved before going into the substantive matter.

Specifically, Mozia asked the court to allow him move his motion challenging the competence of the reply filed by the APC to the defence of Governor Obaseki in the matter.

Counsel to the PDP, Razak Isenalumhe, aligned himself with Obaseki’s position that all pending motions be resolved first before delving into the main matter.

But APC counsel, Chief Akin Olujimi, opposed the submission of Obaseki’s lawyer on the pending motions and prayed the court to suspend all the pending applications and allow him to go straight into the substantive matter by calling his witnesses who were in court.
