Kwara Gov mourns ex-Reps member Kokori Abdul

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Saturday mourned the death of former House of Representatives member Hon. Suleiman Kokori Abdul, describing him as a rare breed politician who had tremendous positive influence on his people, especially the poor and the vulnerable.

Honourable Kokori, who was also a commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, died on Saturday. He represented Okene/Ogori/Magongo Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011 at the House of Representatives.

“I received the report of the death of my brother and dear friend Hon. Sule Kokori with great shock and pain. The development is one tragedy too many not just for the family but for everyone who has ever known the perfect gentleman that he really was. His death is quite devastating!" the Governor said in a statement.

"Hon. Sule meant so much to all of us his friends, brothers, and indeed to the disadvantaged and vulnerable people, especially of Kogi and Kwara states. He took valuable time to join the vanguard of the Otoge campaign in Kwara and gave tremendous support to the movement. He was a highly principled legislator from a distinguished pedigree, a testimony to the proud legacy of his renowned late father Alhaji Kokori Abdul, a Minister in the Ministry of Information of the Northern Region Government of the Sardauna Sokoto.

"Hon Sule served Allah (SWT) and humanity all his life, and would be sorely missed.

“On behalf of my family, the AbdulRazaqs, the people and government of Kwara State, I send my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of Honourable Kokori and to the people and government of Kogi State. I pray Almighty Allah to grant Honourable Sule Kokori Abdul al-jannah Firdaus and give succour to his family.”
