Oloriegbe's wife donates Uniforms, writing materials to Schools, charges female students on productivity

The wife of the Senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly, Hajia Maimunat Oloriegbe was today at some selected Secondary Schools within the constituency of her husband to motivate the female students with words of encouragements so that they can become nation-builders and homemakers in the future.

Hajia Oloriegbe who is the founder of Matta Girls Foundation - an NGO advocating for the rights of the girl child was purposely at the schools to donate uniforms and writing materials to the indigent students.

The wife of the lawmaker while speaking at Government Girls Day Secondary School Okesuna said, " I am here today to donate these essential materials to you not only as the wife of the Senator representing this Senatorial district but also as a mother that feels concerned about your growth and wellbeing. 

"Matta Girls Foundation was founded by myself to give back to the society and part of what we are doing to support the needy and promote the girl child interest is what we are here to do. I know what we brought here cannot be enough, however, we don't need to wait until we have bountiful before we touch people's life or extend hands of generosity to the people in need and this is exactly what I want you my children to emulate. You owe our society (from your biological parents and immediate relatives) the responsibility of being great and impactful and you can only achieve that through education. It is on that note that I am  pleading to  you to remain committed to your education. Education is the tool you need to achieve every greatness and right all the wrongs you may abhor." She concluded.

The Senator's wife in her remarks at Government Day Secondary Oke-Aluko expressed sadness over the unimpressive state of education facilities in the school. She commended the efforts of the present administration under the leadership of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazak to address the challenges while promising to continue playing her parts in making the desired changes as she made a donation of a sum of Hundred Thousand Naira for the renovation of a part of the dilapidated science laboratory in the school. 

The Principal of Sheikh Abdulsalam Junior Secondary School, Hajia Juweirat Aluko and her counterparts at the other schools visited were all full of praises and commendations to the Senator's wife for her generosity, praying to Allah to bless her and her husband. The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Education, Mrs. Adeogun lauded Oloriegbe for what she is doing through her foundation urging her not to relent. 

Some of the schools visited were: Sheikh Abdulsalam Junior Secondary School, Unity Road, Government Day Secondary School, Oke Aluko, Government Girls Day Secondary School, Oke Suna, Queen Elizabeth School, and Government Girls Day Secondary School, Pakata, all in Ilorin South and Ilorin West Local Government Areas while similar visitations continue tomorrow at selected schools in Ilorin East and Asa Local government area.
