COVID-19: Salman Shagaya Foundation begins distribution of palliative Tuesday

The renown Non Governmental Organization, Salman Shagaya Foundation is set to begin another distributions of palliatives to caution the effects of the second wave of the deadly pandemic disease.

This was disclosed to 9japarrot via an official press release by the Press Secretary of the Organization, Ibraheem Abdullateef dated 14th December 2020.

The release reads;

The second wave of COVID-19 is upon us as a people. And the Christmas& New Year bell is jingling. 

We will need to support each other better than ever to spread love and happiness during and after the season. 

Moreover, it is about time we started with providing palliative to the widow, the aged, and other needy people in our communities to cushion the effect of COVID-19 as we learned from the first wave. 

On the directive of our chairman, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, hundreds of bag of rice and other food items are to be distributed across the 16 LGAs of Kwara State. 

The delivery team will begin the distribution from Offa and Oyun tomorrow, the statement reads 

The Foundation advised all Residents and citizens of the state to keep to the preventive measures at all times, having it in mind that COVID-19 is back stronger and safety is everyone's responsibility.

Ultimately, government, philanthropists, traditional and religious institutions, and civil groups are urged for strengthened efforts as regards combating the pandemic to avoid loss of lives and spiral hunger in our communities. Abdullateef said
