Kwara State Internal Revenue wins 2019/2020 Alford Conference Leadership Award

The Alford Conference Limited, organizer of the Annual Nigerian States IGR summit has honoured the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, Shade Omoniyi with the leadership in IGR award for the year 2019/2020.

 

The Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Mr. Frederick Apeji while delivering his keynote during the award presentation commended the quality of service provided by the KW-IRS since inception, describing Kwara State as one of the top 12 fastest and most independent State in Nigeria in 2019.

 

Mr. Apeji also commended the Kwara State government for the conception and creation of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service and providing full legal backing for its smooth operations in the State.

 

He pointed out that less money is coming from the federation account as monthly allocation and states across the nation are advised to look inwards and provide strategies to further improve its IGR.

 

Mr.Apeji noted that, need to encourage State revenue agencies birthed the Nigerian States IGR summit for the year 2021 and beyond.

 

He congratulated the Management Team and Staff of KW-IRS for their efforts and the exemplary leadership displayed by the Executive Chairman of KW-IRS,Shade Omoniyi, since she assumed office, urging them to continue to strive and put in all required efforts to further improve revenue administration of Kwara State.

 

In her acceptance speech, the Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi, whom the Director, Accounts and Finance,Omolara Ojulari received the award on her behalf, commended the effort of the organizer of the Leadership in IGR Award, describing the initiative as a course that will not only motivate IRS across Nigeria to improve revenue administration but also provide recognition for outstanding performances over the years.      

 

She said the KW-IRS is devoted to continuous revenue generation for the development of all sectors in Kwara State using available resources and thanked the CEO of Alford Conference Limited and his team for the recognition award given to the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service.
