Kwara Senator, Oloriegbe Commissions Motorized Borehole Water, Modern Toilet Projects




  • Places Volunteer Teacher on Monthly Stipends


The Senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly in Abuja, Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has on Thursday put smiles on the faces of  some people in his constituents, by  commissioning some of the water and toilet projects facilitated to some communities. This marked some part of his 2020  constituency Projects.


The commissioned Motorized and hand pump borehole water projects were located at Olokobiri Village in Akanbi ward 2 of Ilorin South Local Government;  Akewusola Village in Maya/Ile Apa Ward, Ipako-Obo Village, and  Aiyetoro Oja in Oke-Oyi Oke-Ose Ward as well as Sabo Oke in Magaji Aare Ward 2 of Ilorin East Local Government areas of Kwara State. While the modern toilet is to serve the people of Ganiki community in Akanbi Ward 5, Ilorin South Local government.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, the spokespersons of the communities, Alhaji AbdulRaufu Aireke, Usman AbdulRaheem, and Wasiu Ologede commended Sen. Oloriegbe for his responsive representation towards the provision of sufficient basic amenities for the people of his constituency whilst appealing to him to extend similar gestures to the nearest communities within their localities.


Oloriegbe while addressing the press at Aiyetoro-Oja village, said, the projects were facilitated to ease the perennial water shortage in the chosen communities and for the constituents to have access to drinkable water, noting that every of the fifty-two (52) wards in his constituency would have dividends of democracy to point to through him before end of his tenure. 





Senator Oloriegbe who implored the benefitting communities to use the projects judiciously and see it as their own said he will speak with  Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq on the possibility of constructing the roads to Olokobiri and Maya/ Ile Apa to fastrack socioeconomic development of the areas.


Senator Oloriegbe who was elated with the hospitality of the people of Aiyetoro Oja however placed a volunteer teacher in the community, Wasiu Ologede on a monthly stipend of twenty thousand naira to appreciate him for his contribution towards the development of education in the area.


Other similar projects facilitated in Ilorin West and Asa Local government are bid for commissioning tomorrow, Friday, at their various locations.
