Dr. Elelu Applauds AbdulRahman Over Steadfastness In Primary Health Care Sector In Kwara State

The Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWPHCDA), Dr. Nusirat Elelu has applauded The Executive Governor Of Kwara State, Mallam. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq over his steadfastness in primary health care sector in Kwara State.

She discussed this during a training session with special team ahead COVID-19 Vaccine throughout the 16 local government areas in the state. She also led the National Facilitators from Abuja in company of members of Technical Working Group to the Executive Governor recently.

Dr. Nusirat said that she was impressed with the quality of facilities on ground, the human capital and the willingness of the state government to go an extra mile at ensuring that the state does not become a safe haven for the COVID-19 pandemic.

She narrated that her administration in conjunction with the state government has taken the difficult route of ensuring we are able  to handle control the spread of COVID-19. 

According to her, "This is an expensive and time-consuming effort, but we remain committed to our promise to the people and the governor was passionate about the safety of the society”, she said.

 

In her words: "We must commend our governor for being proactive cum quick response in tackling the Virus. Thus the steps taken so far by the governor to curtail the spread of the disease is worthy of commendation."

Speaking on the COVID-19 Vaccination, Dr. Nusirat said the vaccines would be rolled out in 4 phases starting with front line healthworkers. She implored the citizens of kwara to register for the vaccination.

Dr. Nusirat, however, advised Kwarans that COVID-19 can be overcome and not a death sentence.

“COVID-19-is not a death sentence, people have recovered from it. We will get over this too, but we must continue to ensure that we follow all safety measures like washing of hands, social-distancing and other safety standards as recommended by our health professionals,” she said.

“As for all our health workers, we appreciate them for their front line role in the fight against the disease,” she said.
