Community Lauds Buhari, Oloriegbe Over Psychiatric Hospital Project

The residents of Budo-Egba Community in Asa Local Govt Areas of Kwara State have lauded President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe over the choice of their community as the host of the proposed pioneer Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital in the entire North Central geopolitical zone.

The commendation was made by the Alangua of Budo Egba, Alh. Issa Ishola when the elated community received at their community, the joint delegations of the Federal Ministry of Health as well as the State Ministry of Health led by Dr. Noah Andrew and the State Health Ministry, Permanent Secretary, Dr. Abubakar Ayinla.

As happiness was etched on the faces of the residents of the community, they expressed delight over the immense benefits attached to the facility which would not only open the settlement to the world but also enhance the socio-economic developments of the area, as well as creating job opportunities and avail them of quality healthcare services among other advantages.

The ecstatic residents applauded President Muhammad Buhari for considering them worthy of the favor and poured encomium on the facilitator of the project, Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe who not only sponsored the bill for the establishment of the health facility but also exerted efforts in concert with the State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to actualize its implementation.

Speaking further, the community pledged to offer necessary supports towards the realization of the establishment, urging the senator to keep changing the narratives and never stray from the path of driving sustainable development to his constituency.

In their respective remarks, the Chief Medical Directors of UITH and the State General Hospital, Prof. A.D Yusuf as well as Dr. Ahmed Bola Abdulkadir applauded the choice of the health facility, affirming that it would decongest their respective hospitals and enhance access to the service the facility is intended to provide while also promising to offer manpower support to ensure the smooth running when kicking off.

In his part, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Abubakar Ayinla who spoke on behalf of the State Ministry of Health lauded the project and appreciated the Federal Ministry of Health for considering the choice of Kwara among all the States in North Central geo-political zone that bid for the project whilst also promising to work in harness with them to ensure its realization.

While the project is under construction, the existing structures of Budo-egba Cottage Hospital will be remodeled and used until the completion of the project, this aligns with the view espoused by the State NMA chairman, Prof. Baba Issa, a psychiatric expert, who while speaking at the event supported the idea of using the Budo-Egba Hospital to serve the purpose the project is meant to offer pending the time it would be completed.

Among the dignitaries at the inspection were delegations of the Federal Ministry of Health led by Dr. Noah Andrew, delegations of State Ministry of Health led by Dr. Abubakar Ayinla, CMD UITH, Prof. A.D Yusuf, CMD GHI, Dr. Ahmed Bola Abdulkadir, TIC members of Asa Local Government Areas led by Hon. Abdulganiyu Saadu, religion leaders amongst others.
