We Didn't Reject AbdulRazaq's N1.5m Ramadan Gift- Kwara APC Elders

The AA Elders Caucus,  an APC group loyal to the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has refuted claims making rounds in the media that it had rejected an N1.5 million Ramadan gift from the governor, with claims that the group had been sidelined despite its loyalty.

A statement by the group's Secretary, AbdulMumin S. Katibi, and obtained by 9japarrot insisted that the group being stakeholders in the Kwara project remains committed to the development of the state, and not after material or personal gains.

It added that the group's satisfaction with governor Abdulrazaq's commitment to the same ideals have made them allies and partners, therefore, the issue of material gains or self-interest never arises.

"On the said Ramadan package, we are worried that some elements can take their hates and discontent all in the name of politics and power struggle to this extent of creating deliberate confusion even in this holy Month when all regular human beings seek the face, forgiveness, and blessing of our Creator. As for us, the public should be aware that, like many other groups within and outside the State, the Governor and leader of our Party generously reached out to us and the same was thankfully received, acknowledged with prayers, and even Christians among us were carried along because we as elders, they have Muslim followers to cater for", the statement read.

It added "While we understand that some Political issues are needing urgent attention and quick fixing, our attitude and approach as equal partners and stakeholders in Kwara project has been to interface and offer our modest but honest, constructive and sincere opinions to the Governor"

The group also called on all interest groups in the party to give peace a chance, adding that it appreciates the governor's efforts to reconcile aggrieved interests, and also reaffirmed its support and confidence in the leadership of Governor AbdulRazaq while distancing itself from the malicious publication.
