Kwarans Honour Adedoyin Family At Mother's Fidau



The sleepy rural Ijomu-Oro in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State on thursday  came alive as it hosted a huge gathering of prominent leaders, monarchs, elders and other Nigerians for the Fidau of the late patriach of the Yesufu Adedoyin mother of the  former Commissioner for Information in Kwara State and Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom,  Oloye Raheem Adedoyin.

The late Madam ( Princess ) Awawu Ajobike Adedoyin transited on Friday, May 7, 2021 and was buried at Ijomu-Oro on the same day in accordance with Islamic practices.

At the event were the Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Kayode Alabi; the deputy speaker, kwara state house of Assembly, Hon. Raphael Adetiba,  Former Member , Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Moshood Mustapha, Chairman, LUBCON, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim , Mallam Saliu Mustapha and All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart, Senator Suleiman Makanjuola Ajadi and leading members of the ruling APC and the oppsition Peoples Democratic party ( PDP)


The Oloro of Oro Kingdom, Oba AbdulRafiu Ajiboye Oyelaran1 led other monarchs and traditional chiefs to the well attended occasion.
Other high profile personalities in attendance at the eight days Fidau prayer which took place at the market square of Ijomu-Oro included Mallam Saliu Mustapha, Hon. Saliu Mustapha; Chief Wole Oke; Hon Yinka Aluko, SA to Kwara State Governor on Special Duties; Alhaji Tajudeen Adigun; member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Felix Omotayo Awodiji; a delegation of Kwara State Chamber of Commerce  Industries  Manufacturing Association( KWACCOMA) led by its President, Dr. Ahmed  Raji, representatives of Kwara APC, Lagos State branch and the keadership  of  Omo Ibile Igbomina led by its National President, Engr. Timothy Adebayo and members of Ansarul Islam Grammar School Old Students Association,, Ijomu Oro.

Other dignitaries who graced the Fidau prayer were  Popular Yoruba Actor, Lasun Ray , Dr. Sunday Popoola from United Kingdom, AU Mustapha, SAN, former Permanent Secretaries, Prince Sulaiman Fagbemi,  Alh Ganiyu Mustapha, Alh. Ganiyu Opeloyeru and Mr. Ayo  Oyeniyi,  (Mrs) Dupe Adejumo; Chief Sunday Ibitoye, Hon. Kayode Towoju, Hon. Bode Towoju, the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria( ALGON), Kwara State Chapter and Chairman of the Transtion Implenentstion Committee( TIC) Ifelodun LG, Hon. Jide ashonibare,  TIC Chairmen of Isin LG, Engr Tunde Fadipe and his counterparts from Oke-Ero, Ifelodun and Irepodun LGs Victor Yusuf and Jide Oyinloye; and Akinrogun Segun Olawoyin.

Ayansola Mohammed, Hon. David Bamidele, Hajia Risikat Lawal, former PDP State Secretary, High Chief Olabode Adejanye; PDP Youth Leaders Hon. Shamsudeen Bada and Hon. Kazeem Adekanye.


Delegation of Oloriewe's classmates in Unilag led by Mr. Fred Ohwahwa and Oloriewe's Premier Club, Aura Club 86 led by Alh. Tajudeen Adigun, A sarul Islam Grammar School, Ijomu Oro Old Students Association and  other eminent personalities were present at the Fidau prayer 

 Senator Lola Ashiru, represented by Asiwaju Tajudeen Abioye and Hon. Tunji Olawuyi( Ajuloopin) represented by Hon. Agas; Alh. Ganiyu Asaju, Otunba Lekan Alabi;  Chairman, Harmony Intercontinental Hotels, Chief Gbenle Adeyemi and former Chairman, Governing Council, Kwara State School of Health Technology, Offa were also among the distinguished personalities at the occasion.

Close associates of the chief host, Oloriewe Adedoyin who were on hand to ensure a successful event included the General Manager, Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation (Publishers of The Herald Newspapers), Yomi Adeboye; Professor Babatunde Opabola; Dr. Bashir Olaitan Ibrahim of the Department of History and International Studies, University of Ilorin; Hon. Bode Towoju; High Chief Sule Alawode Hon. Kazeem Adekanye , Alh. Nureni Olanipekun, Tayo Olagunju, and Mr. Tunde Bakare.
The eldest son of the deceased, the Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom and former Commissioner for Education in Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulraheem Adedoyin expressed profound appreciation to all present for attending the eight days Fidau prayer of his late mother.
Adeedoyin described the death of the mother, Princess Awawu Ajibike Adedoyin as a great loss not only to the family but to the entire Oro Kingdom.
Oloriewe mentioned that the late matriarch was a fantastic mother who imbibed in all her children hard work, discipline, love and fear of Allah during her life time.
He said the children would continue to carry on with the selfless service to humanity and to God among other good legacies his mother left behind.
One  of the APC stalwarts in Kwara State, Hon Moshood Mustapha said Late Princess Adedoyin was a good mother not only her children, but to the entire children that came across her.
According to him, "late Mama never discriminated, she took us as her sons and she always gave us motherly advise  that is presently assisting us in all our human endeavour.”
Hon. Mustapha admonished the children to continue to be upright and not to lose faith in Allah.


Another APC stalwart, Hon Saliu Mustapha in his remark thanked Allah for a life well spent by late Awawu Adedoyin, described her death as a great loss to the family.


The representative of Kwara APC, Lagos branch, Alh. Adisa Alago described the deceased as the back bone of the family.
He said everyone will miss her motherly roles among other supports that she rendered to everyone during her life time.
He urged the family to accept the death of their late mum, and prayed to Allah to grant
