Gobir Organization Foundation Trains, Empowers 'at-risk' Youth

In a bid to curb hooliganism and contribute to Human Capital Development, Gobir Organization Foundation, earlier today, after months of training, empowered beneficiaries of her new initiative tagged “DEEP."

The Foundation, owned by a prominent philanthropist, Waziri Yakubu Gobir, has since its inception recorded great feats in human capital development. 

DEEP is an acronym for De-radicalization, Education, and Empowerment Programme. 

According to the Foundation's Head of Media and Publicity, Khadijat Eyitanwa Lawal, DEEP, meant for at-risk youth, is targeted at taking reckless youths off the streets. 

The 3-month training, which commenced on Monday, 1st March 2021, at the Entrepreneurship Development Centre of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, had beneficiaries trained by experts in shoemaking, cakes and confectioneries, paint making and tailoring. 

Commending the initiative, one of the beneficiaries, Kazeem Hanafi said he cannot express his joy in words as he will continue to be indebted to the Foundation and its Chairman for the opportunity given to him. 

Beneficiaries are: Soliu Ramat Opeyemi, Sharafadeen Fatimah, Kazeem Hanafi, Husamat Abdullahi Hamzat, Shamsudeen Gobir, Sulyman Taofeeqat, and Sharafadeen Salaudeen.
