At the just concluded bye election of Lere Federal Constitueny in Kaduna State, women out numbered men in the turn out for voting.
According to reports made by News Nigerian; In most of the polling units visited, the number of women tripple that of men on the que waiting to cast their votes.
The wards visited were ‘Yar kasuwa, Bagadawa, Lere, Hayin Gada, Kayarda and Dan Alhaji respectively.
It was observed that INEC prepared adequately for the successful conduct of the election by ensuring that voting started as scheduled in all the 11 Wards.
Speaking on the election, the Local Government Overseer, Adamu Mohammed Gubuchi expressed satisfaction with the turn out of voters.
Mohammed Gubuchi also lauded the entire people of the local government for the maturity and peaceful conduct they displayed during and after the voting.
The Overseer said Nigeria’s democracy is progressing as no political thugs were seen moving around.
Adequate security was provided during the period of the election, there was movement restriction.
