Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu fondly called Sanwo-Eko by his admirers has depth knowledge of Lagos history, its people and the environment. The Governor has continue to translates his understanding of the state and its people by introducing sustainable empowerment programmes to make life better for Lagosians.

He is not just implementing empowerment programmes to make people smile for camera after receiving token but the excellent leader is going extra miles to lift people out of poverty and give them quality means of livelihood.

Sanwo-Olu empowers thousand of vulnerable women and indigents, provides mentorship for youth to embrace Agriculture and injects N4billion to help residents with ingenious business idea to start business the Lagos State Empowerment Fund (LSTF).

No fewer than 30,000 Lagosians have benefited directly or indirectly from various empowerment programmes of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu within 30 months while its multiplier effect has reached thousands of households across 20 local government areas and LCDAs.

Sanwo-Olu introducing empowerment for political correctness that favors multitude at the quality and sustainable empowerment which can boost the state economy as well as strengthen/develop employers of labour. He has touched the women, widows, artisans, youths, Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) and the vulnerable people in the society with numerous empowerment programmes. 

Empowerment

Empowered 1,050 vulnerable women and indigent residents in the State with equipment such as sewing machines, hairdryers and clippers, pepper grinding machines, generators and popcorn making machines during the 2019 Mega
Empowerment programme.

The State was declared as the ‘Best State Supporting Artisans’ in the Federation at a programme organized by Global Sight Services Limited in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment and the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises of Nigerian [SMEDAN].

Organized a Mentorship seminar for over 1,000 Youths in the State on the theme: “AGRICPRENEUR: Strategy for Wealth Creation”.

Empowered 600 residents with ingenious business idea to the tune of N4billion through the Lagos State Empowerment Fund [LSETF] W-Initiative in collaboration with Access Bank Plc to empower Lagosians.

Signed a $10 million matching fund aimed at impacting over 15,000 youths with skills and internships in the first phase for USADF youth-led enterprise.

Organized the maiden edition of Badagry Youth Oil and Gas Conference with over 250 youth along with students, NGO and Civil Servants in attendance.

Empowered 200 household heads for orphans and vulnerable children in the State with 76 Grinding machine, 69 Sewing machine, 10   tools,  10 deep freezers , 15 Hair Drying machine, 10 Braving Equipment and 7 Ovens among others        

      
Provided palliatives for the Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD). These include 3000 packs of Indomie instant noodles, 1500 large bag of several food items which includes 20 packs of Honeywell Macaroni


110kg bag of rice, 15kg bag of garri, 5 sachets of sugar, 1 sachet of salt donated by Dangote group. The items were distributed among the PLWD, Nigeria Association of Persons with Physical Disability, Lagos State Chapter of Nigeria Association of the Blind, Lagos State Chapter of Association of the Deaf, Albino Association, the Dwarf Association and other several institutions
