UNIMAID Alumni Association, Kwara Chapter To Hold Reunion January 1st





The University of Maiduguri Alumni Association, Kwara State Chapter is set to hold its reunion and end-of-year get-together on Saturday 1st of January, 2022.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the association, Mallam Lawal Olohungbebe, which was made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Sunday through the association Publicity Secretary, Edun Malik.


The reunion, according to the statement, will take place in Kwara hotel under the chairmanship of Barr. Abubakar Bature Sulu-Gambari, the Chroma of Ilorin.

The event, which will commence by 4:00 pm would have as guest speaker a distinguished scholar, Professor Ibrahim Laro of the Kwara State University, Malete.

Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion as special guests include; Professor A.G. Ambali, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin; Barrister Senior Ibrahim Sulyman, Hon. Commissioner of Tertiary Education, Science, and Technology, Kwara State; Engr. Tunde Fadipe, TIC Chairman, Isin Local Government Area; Prof. (Mrs.) Fajonyomi of the University of Ilorin; Barr. Murtala Sambo, Special Adviser to Kwara State Governor on Legal Matters; and Mr. Kayode Oyin-Zubair, Senior Special Assistant on Community Intervention 


The event, which is expected to be an assemblage of trailblazing individuals who were former students of the University of Maiduguri, North Eastern Nigeria, would be the first of such under the new leadership of the association in Kwara State.

According to the chairman of the association, Mallam Olohungbebe, "The reunion will rekindle the sweet memories and experiences of the UNIMAID Alumni who have recorded tremendous achievements and excelled in their different fields of human endeavors.  It will also help to re-establish friendship among former University mates who will be meeting again physically after a fairly long time."

Olohungbebe, who said the event would take place under strict adherence to all Covid-19 protocols, urged all expected attendees and guests to cooperate with the event host and organizers to have a befitting and memorable reunion.
