Offa Chief Imam Turbans Harmony Holdings GMD, Abdullahi Abdulmajeed ‘Aare Qadiriyyah Of Ibolo’

The Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhyideen Salman Hussein on Saturday turbaned the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Harmony Holdings Limited, Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed as the ‘Aare Qadiriyyah of Ibolo’.

The prestigious title within the Qadiriyyah community was awarded to the Harmony Holdings chief by the Khalifa Qadiriyyah of Ibolo, Sheikh Muzammil Oladipupo Dundu. Scholars who witnessed the colorful turbans ceremony hailed the installation as well-deserved.

The event took place at Dundu Compound in Offa, as the turning moment was especially greeted by cheers and ecstasy from attendees.

Decorating Abdulmajeed, the Chief Imam of Offa said he is of the source as far as the Qadiriyyah movement is concerned, adding that his contributions to the movement, Islamic religion, and human development are worthy of commendation.

Sheikh Hussein prayed that Allah will continue to guide and elevate Abdulmajeed as he is bestowed with the highly coveted title.

Dr. Risikat Alabi, the mother of the new Aare, was present at the occasion full of joy and happiness to witness such an important milestone.

The turning ceremony meanwhile attracted dignitaries in politics, government, and business, including Arch. Lola Ashiru, Senator representing Kwara South; Hon. Femi Agbaje Whyte, Commissioner for Water Resources; Hon. Saheed Popoola, member representing Ojomu/Balogun at Kwara State House of Assembly; Hon. Jare Olatundun, TIC Chairman, Offa Local Government.

Others are Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Rural Mobilization; Hon. Tade Shittu, Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KW-GIS); Alhaji Debo Bukoye; Chairman, IVTEC; Hon. Abdulqowiy Olododo, Technical Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture; Hon. Ibrahim Akaje, Commissioner-nominee; Mr. AbdulRazaq Hamzat, Coordinator, Kwara Must Change (KMC); Alhaja Aminat Gbolasere (Iya Ewe). Chieftains and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Offa led by Hon. Kunle Papa, Chairman also graced the event.

As Abdulmajeed becomes the Aare which translates to President, he is expected to provide leadership for the Qadiriyyah movement in Ibolo land. Other personalities were also turbaned with various titles, with Sheikh Hussein giving all of them the charge to live up to their responsibilities.
