Kwara State Labour Party Unveils Governorship Candidate

On Monday 25th 2022, the Labour Party in Kwara State unveiled famous student leader, Basambo Abubakar as its Governorship Candidate for the 2023 governorship election, in Kwara.

Basambo, a Political Science Doctoral (PhD) student of Kwara State University promised to bring governance down to the doorstep of every Kwaran if elected.

"I am delighted today and feel so honored to be the Governorship Candidate of our great party, LP. This is the only Party in Nigeria where you can find at least one member from each household. The party stands for equity and justice. Insha’Allah if I become the Governor of our dear State, we will work for the benefit of the people and ensure governance is felt by every household in Kwara."

The former President of National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS National Headquarters) appealed to young people and women in Kwara to support the course to enable the party win the 2023 election.

"I am young and energetic. I represent the most important age group, the youth. I implore all youths in Kwara to stand strongly with me to ensure that we take Kwara back from the privileged few. With the support of the youth and women, the Kwara we desire will be ours."
