…Promises to Repay Lawmaker with Massive Votes

Community Leaders in Akanbi ward 1 & 2 of Ilorin South Local Government have described as ‘impactful’, the representation offered by member representing Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and Social Democratic Party (SDP) Reps candidate for Ilorin East/South, Hon. (Dr) Ganiyu Saka Cook Olododo, promising to repay his impressive performance with massive votes in the upcoming 2023 general election, when the lawmaker is seeking re-election.

These disclosures were made during a pre-campaign consultation tour to traditional rulers, community leaders and stakeholders by the campaign Directorate for Olododo’s re-election.

In their separate remarks, traditional leaders of various communities of Akanbi ward 1 & 2 attested to the people oriented legislation of Hon. Cook, especially at a time majority of those communities couldn’t feel government’s presence.

Daudu of Fufu, Alh. Muazu Babatunde Alege lauds the lawmaker for his impactful representation, declaring that “Fufu votes are for Cook Olododo, because that is what will guarantee our communities’ greater benefit.”

The traditional leader however noted with dismay that Fufu, which is the headquarters of Ilorin South Local Government doesn’t have a semblance of a local government headquarters, he therefore urged the lawmaker to accelerate ongoing efforts on the establishment of Federal Medical Centre, Fufu, which he said would boost developmental fortune of the community.

For his part, Baale Fufu - Alhaji Issa Zubair declared that the community have no alternative to Hon. Olododo for 2023, noting that he has distinguished himself as a politician who truly cares for the well-being of his people.

Similarly, the Olota of Ilota, Mall. Raheem Subairu said “We are benefiting from the representation of Alh. Cook and we thank God for giving him to us as our representative. It is our fervent prayer that he is elected to represent us again as our Reps member.”

Adisa Suleiman, representative of the Magaji of Omomere in his own remarks said “We won’t be ungrateful to Allah and Hon. Olododo, noting how the lawmaker has offered succor to members of the community on personal and public grounds, in terms of providing financial support for medical treatment, solar streetlights and empowerment for youths, aged and women. We will repay him with maximum support.”

In their separate remarks, the Magajis of Apaola, Isokun, Joroma-Osin among several other communities affirmed that Olododo has justified his election as a rep member and assured him of maximum support in his re-election bid.

The community leaders however lamented the poor state of roads, education and health facilities, which they said government have neglected in recent times and abandoned them to languish with decayed infrastructure.

Equally, President of Fulani community in Akanbi ward 1 & 2 Adamu Aliyu who spoke on behalf of Fulanis assured Hon. Cook of total support in his second term bid. He applauded Alh. Cook for empowering him and solicit more support for members of the Fulani community.

Earlier in his remarks at various locations, the Director General of Olododo campaign council, Alh. Ishola Abiola Mashood (Pascal), who led the team alongside the Vice Chairman of the campaign council- Alh. Saad Babatunde and Deputy DG - Alh. Oba Mahmood noted that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Candidate for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency has ensured communities in the ward and his entire constituency feel government presence and “We are here, not for campaign yet, but for you to assess our performance and give him the go ahead for re-election bid, come 2023.

“We have dumped the APC because the sanitation we intended doing in Kwara state with the broom was not realized. Instead, we have seen those entrusted to clean the State with brooms desecrating everywhere more than ever. This is why we’ve chose to pitch our tent with the SDP, which is the credible alternative for our people at this time.

He added that “Hon. Cook has been able to do the little you are seeing so far, from his own personal efforts at the Green Chamber. We believe through this party (SDP), he will be able to do more for our people. We solicit your further support, so he can do more for us.
