Gobir Takes Campaign Train to Oke-Ero, Promises To Prioritise Youth Development



Waziri Yakubu Gobir, the Young Progressive Party (YPP) Gubernatorial candidate in Kwara State, has made a significant campaign promise to focus on youth development if elected in February, next year

In his meeting with stakeholders at Oke-Ero Local Government on Friday, Waziri Gobir outlined his plan to significantly invest in programs that support the education and growth of young people. This includes increasing funding for schools and offering job training and apprenticeship opportunities for those who may not pursue higher education. The candidate explained, “we have a better understanding of what the youths are facing in Kwara, hence why I have decided to run.”

He added, “We have done so many programs through The Gobir Foundation, where thousands of Kwarans have benefited and still benefit. By His grace, if we are elected come 2023, we will prioritise youth development and tackle the high poverty rate in Kwara.” He added.

The announcement was well received, with many people praising the Madawaki of Ilorin for his commitment to supporting the next generation. Residents present made known their belief that by helping young people, we can build a vital and more vibrant society for all.

After the meeting, Aláànú Mẹ̀kúnnù, alongside his running mate, Bolujoko George, and other party stakeholders, met the Oke-Ero Traditional Council under the leadership of HRM Oba (Engr.) Samuel Niyi Dada, Alofa of Iloffa, to seek royal blessing. 




Monarchs at the meeting included Obajisun of Ayedun Oba Olusegun Obayomi Rotimi, Oloota of Odo-owa Oba Joshua Adimula, Onidofin of Odo-Ashe Oba Paul Oni, Onidofin of Idofin-Igbana Oba Samuel Fabiyi, Elegosi of Egosi Oba Daniel Adefila Dada, Elerin of Erimope Oba Julius Towoju, Onimoji of Imoji Oba D.O Kolawole, Edemoran of Kajola Oba Joseph Oyewole, Onimode of Imode Oba J.O Dada, Oba of Ilale kingdom Oba Adokogun, Alajure of Ajure, Oba Olusegun Atolagbe, Obadofin of Ikotunle Oba Omope
Osolo Onigbede of igbede Oba Johnson.

Alofa of Iloffa appreciated Waziri Gobir for supporting the poor, urging him not to be ungrateful to the electorates if elected as Governor in 2023.



"We believe in you because of your background-Gobir family, we know your name, and you have a good name, so please don't forget where you are from when you are elected.” He said.

Yakubu Gobir’s commitment to youth development has solidified their position as a top contender in the election, and many are excited to see what changes they will bring if elected.
