The apex body of the Kwara State Students union under the aegis of the National Association Of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) has said that the association and its executives are not aware of the purported news on a vote of no confidence passed by the President of the association.
The association led by its Vice President of Special Duties, Comrade Akeemat Biogera Issa while addressing the Press at Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital said the President didn't discuss any matter related to the so-called vote of no confidence on any political office holders.
Akeem Biogera explains that the statement of the President, Abdullahi Abdulkadir Wokili is a statement that is false in its entirety.
The group added that It is important to state to ensure the public is properly guided and that at no time did the executive of the Association met to discuss or pass a vote of confidence or otherwise on any political candidate.
"We wish to state that the Association is non-partisan and it is most unfortunate that the supposed leader of the Union is attempting to drag the noble association into politics for personal reasons, against the oath sworn by him to be fair and just in discharge of his duty as the President." the group added.
"While more needed to be done in the Kwara state education sector and that of Nigeria at large, we wish to state that the claim by the President that the present administration has done nothing for the student populace is unfounded." the group said.
The group added that for emphasis sake, the following are some of the State governments interventions for the benefit of students in recent times, for which the president himself had signed a series of appreciation letters directed to the Governor;
1) Scholarship was given to 179 students of Kwara Origin in law schools across the country to the tune of 17.9m. All of which are our members.
2) Approval of #41m+ as a general bursary for Kwara state indigenes in tertiary institutions within the country.
3)Release of a 10 million Naira scholarship to Muhammed Giwa to study master in business Administration at the prestigious University of Cambridge
4) Approval of 15 million Naira as a scholarship grant to Mr. Abdulrasheed Bolaji Ijaodola to enable him to study LLM Programme in Law, Science, and Technology at Stanford University, UK
5) Released of 70million Naira out of the approved 100 million Naira for the completion of a female hostel at the College of Nursing Oke-Ode.
6) Release of 100million for the completion of 1000 seating capacity auditorium at the Kwara State Polytechnic (this happens to be the school of the National President of NAKSS).
Surprisingly, a President who commended the governor just 15 days ago and gave him a lot of accolades is now the one coming out to condemn, Alas, there is a political undertone behind the president's disposition which the entire Nakssites need to be acquitted with, Akeemat added.
Surprisingly, The President was also seen this week giving an award of excellence to the commissioner for tertiary education for his numerous achievements in the area of education.
It is also on tape and record just a few days ago when the erstwhile NAKSS President was reeling out the achievements of the present administration while paying homage to the office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs at the parley with the Kwara state best students award nominees, the group noted.
The group said it condemn the executive rascality of the president by jettisoning the charter of the Association and acting in a lone move, bringing dust to the name of the Association.
"We shall do our best and update the entire Nakssites on how proceeding will go on this matter".
A letter of petition and recommendations will be submitted to the Senate Council, briefing them on the state of the association as regards the President.
The Press briefing release was jointly signed by the;
Vice-President(Admin): Comrade Shitttu Abdulmalik

Director General: Comrade Sulayman Faruq Umar
Public Relations Officer 1: Comrade Yemi Bello
