SDP wins Karu/Keffi/Kokona Reps seat in Nasarawa

The Social Democratic Party, SDP has won the House of Representatives for Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal constituency in Nasarawa state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Jonathan Gaza, a member of the SDP as the winner of the Saturday’s election.

The INEC Returning Officer for the election, Professor George Genyi, said Gaza polled 60265 votes to win at the Keffi Zonal collation centre in the Keffi local government area of the state on Monday.

According to him, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Bulus Ishaku, scored 33180 votes with that of the Labour Party, Mr Iliya Gambo scoring 29665 votes while that of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr Auta Koro scored 28417 votes.

He stated, “That Gaza Jonathan of the SDP having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
