Ramadan: Kwara Speaker, Danladi Hosts ASKOMP, NUJ To Iftar



The Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yakubu Salihi Danladi on Monday hosted Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) and Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) to Ramadan Iftar at his Official Residence in Ilorin.

The Speaker appreciated the ASKOMP, NUJ and other journalists in the State for their cooperation and support to Kwara State House of Assembly under his leadership since 2019.

Danladi noted that Journalists in Kwara State has continued to uphold ethics of the profession through balanced and fair reportage of activities/events happenings within the State Assembly.

He therefore implored the fourth estate of the realm to continue to support Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration in his bid to build a prosperous Kwara.

In his reaction, ASKOMP Chairman, Salihu Shola Taofeek thanked the Speaker for always associating with Online Media Practitioners since assumption of office in 2019.

Taofeek said Danladi who recently secured second term as representative of Ilesa/Gwanra State Constituency has proven to be good ambassador of the young generation with his impressive performance as Kwara Assembly Speaker and community impacts.

He reiterated ASKOMP's commitment towards objective and balanced reporting as professionals.

Similarly, Kwara NUJ Chairman, Mallam Ahmed Abdullateef 
congratulated the Speaker for the ‘overwhelming’ victory at the poll. 

According to him, Hon. Speaker’s victory is overwhelming because the margin of defeat of his opponents is unprecedented and represented the trust and confidence of the people of Ilesha/Gwanara constituency in his representation. We appreciate you for the kind gesture and commend you for always willing to partner the media in advancing the course of a better Kwara.

Ahmed also gave  assurance that its members will continue to report objectively in pursuant of upholding the ethics of journalism, good governance, justice and progress of the state.
