The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is set to receive the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) award from the Federal Government of Nigeria. The CON is one of the highest national honours bestowed on eminent Nigerians.
The Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs made the announcement, noting it had obtained approval from President Muhammadu Buhari to present special national awards on deserving personalities.
Governor AbdulRazaq has been recognized for his outstanding leadership in Kwara State. In the last four years, he has led transformative policies, programmes and ideas that have had huge impact on the socioeconomic configuration of the state. He is widely adjudged as one of the best performing governors in the country.
AbdulRazaq is also a champion of women and youth inclusion in politics and governance. He has won several awards and laurels for his incredible strides in government.
The CON award is a well-deserved recognition of Governor AbdulRazaq's outstanding leadership and service to the nation. He is a true inspiration to all Nigerians.
