Kwara Govt, KWASU Students' Union Honors Late VC Prof Akanbi

Kwara State University Students' Union (KWASU SUG) on Wednesday honored the late Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi, with a leadership summit and empowerment program.

The summit, which was held in Ilorin, was attended by various dignitaries, including the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

In his remarks, the governor described Prof Akanbi as a strong and value-driven administrator who played a significant role in transforming KWASU.

"He was a fine representative of the youth constituency as one of the youngest vice chancellors in the country," said the governor.

The KWASU SUG President, Israel Jesutofunmi, said the summit was organized to honor Prof Akanbi's legacy and to inspire the students to emulate his values.

"We are gathered here today to honor the memory of a great man who dedicated his life to the service of education," said Jesutofunmi. "Prof Akanbi was a visionary leader who always put the students first."

The summit featured a series of lectures and workshops on leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal development. The students also had the opportunity to network with successful professionals from various industries.
