NGF Chairman, AbdulRazaq Congratulates Tinubu On Election As ECOWAS Chairman

Bola Ahmed Tinubu was unanimously elected chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Sunday, July 10, 2023.

The election took place at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.

Tinubu, the 16th president of Nigeria, is a former governor of Lagos State and a political heavyweight in the region.

In a statement, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), congratulated Tinubu on his election.

"We believe Mr. President will justify the confidence reposed in him, given his antecedents as a time-tested leader," AbdulRazaq said. "With his wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors, we have no doubt that the West African leaders have made the right choice."

The NGF chairman urged all stakeholders to cooperate with President Tinubu on this significant responsibility to place West Africa on the global map.
