The media office of Hon. Chief Oluwasegun Olaoye, the Babalaje of Oro Kingdom and leading contender for the Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti/Irepodun Federal Constituency seat in 2027, has issued a formal disclaimer regarding reports and images currently circulating online.
The viral report, which claimed that over 600 bags of rice were distributed across the Irewolede Axis of Kwara South on March 9, 2026, has been declared factually incorrect and misleading.
In a statement released and made available to 9japarrot media to clear the air, Team Olaoye clarified that no such empowerment or palliative distribution has taken place in the current month. The team noted that the images being shared alongside the report are archived photos from an empowerment program conducted several years ago.
"We want to state categorically that Hon. Chief Oluwasegun Olaoye did not carry out any rice distribution as currently being reported. The pictures circulating are old images from past philanthropic activities" the statement reads.
"We urge the general public and our supporters to disregard this misinformation as it does not reflect our current itinerary." They added.
While debunking the false report, the media office disclosed an upcoming, large-scale intervention designed to provide sustainable support for residents of the four local governmentsIrepodun, Isin, Ekiti, and Oke-Ero.
The Babalaje of Oro Kingdom is reportedly in the final stages of designing a "Giant Empowerment Program" that will cut across the entire Federal Constituency. Unlike the rumored palliative, this upcoming program is expected to focus on long-term socio-economic impact for youths, women, and the vulnerable.
The team thanked the constituents for their continued prayers and enthusiasm regarding Hon. Olaoye’s 2027 House of Representatives aspiration but urged them to wait for official communication from the authorized media channels.
"Our principal, Hon. Olaoye remains deeply committed to the wellbeing of our people, and when the new empowerment program launches, it will be communicated transparently and across all relevant platforms," the statement concluded.
