How Saliu Mustapha's Philanthropic Gestures Turns Couple's Home Into a Happy One

Known for his philanthropic gestures, again the Turaki of Ilorin and All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Kwara Central, Mallam Saliu Mustapha on Sunday provided job and start-up capital for husband and wife respectively.

The request by Abubakar Balikis during Consultative Session with Youth Associations by Saliu Mustapha Campaign Organization held at African People’s Hall, Ilorin got the immediate reaction of Saliu Mustapha.

Balikis Abubakar Gobir reportedly narrated the plight of her husband, Salaudeen Majeed to the compassionate APC Senatorial Candidate by expressing concern about growing unemployment and poverty in the state.

Abubakar Balikis Gobir from Ilorin West local government explained that her brilliant husband is finding it difficult to get a job and affecting their family's survival.

This prompted the APC Senatorial Candidate to offer employment to Salaudeen Majeed and provide business start-up capital to help them start a good life.

As a confirmation of this development, Turaki also took to his official social media handles to restate his commitment to alleviate poverty and focus more on sustainable economic development if elected.

The statement as seen by 9japarrot Media reads;

"I was touched by the way one of my constituents, a young lady named Mrs. Bilkisu Abubakar,  made a heartfelt plea for her unemployed husband at the ongoing stakeholders consultative session in Kwara Central senatorial district."

That is why I requested the husband's CV to see what could be done, and I also requested that the Saliu Mustapha Foundation include her as a beneficiary of my empowerment program.

"It was an emotional moment for me as tears of joy welled up in her grateful eyes.

I firmly believe that we can start addressing the problems of unemployment and poverty by promoting skill acquisition and offering vocational training in line with modern trends and societal demands."

The creation of jobs is a key component of my legislative agenda, Turaki added.

Earlier, Turaki hinted that skills acquisition and vocational training would be one of strategy for creating jobs, alleviating poverty, and sustainable economic development.

“I believe we can address the issue of unemployment and poverty with skills acquisition and vocational training in line with the latest trends and societal needs.” He added.

Youth Associations across four local government areas under the auspices of the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) attended the interactive session.
