Kwara Central: Saliu Mustapha Engages Stakeholders From Gambari Community



• Clarifies the Role of a Legislature

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Kwara Central in the 2023 general elections, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has promised to harness the economic potential in communities across the Kwara Senatorial district, when elected.

Salihu Mustapha disclosed this on Sunday while addressing a stakeholders' consultative session with community leaders/stakeholders from Gambari in Ilorin East local Government.

The APC Senatorial Candidate while responding to the request for the revival of the Dam in Gambari, said he will use legislation to explore natural resources and other economic potentials in Kwara Central to create wealth, reduce unemployment and boost the state economy.

According to him, the role of the legislature is different from the Executive position but will add value to various communities through policies and legislation.

He noted that his philanthropic activities which are acts of charity come under the Saliu Mustapha Foundation. 

In his words: "I am a good listener and not a talkative. I listen to feel the heart of the people. This stakeholder engagement will continue even after my victory in the 2023 general elections by God's grace, he said. 

"I will facilitate developmental projects in our Senatorial district and lobby other colleagues in the Senate to spread dividends of democracy to the four local government areas in Kwara Central. Although, the role of the lawmaker is different from executive but I will continue my charity work."

Salihu Mustapha who spoke in English, Yoruba, and Hausa language urged the people of Kwara Central Senatorial district to vote for him to get quality and effective representation. 

Prominent personalities from the Gambari community who were present at the event included Justice Abdullahi Idris Haroon, Prof Lanre, Prof Aisha Gobir, Prof Ologele Assayouty, SA Strategy to Kwara Governor, Alhaji Saadudeen Salaudeen, Kwara NBA Secretary, Barr Taofiq Olateju and a host of others who shared testimonials of impactful gesture of Salihu Mustapha.

The Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Kwara State Chapter, Barr Olateju narrated how Mallam Salihu Mustapha provided support for Barr Abdullahi Alhiknla who had a health challenge that requires attention outside the country.
